Residual Bowel App

Residual Bowel App is intended for use by Canadian healthcare professionals (primarily surgeons) to track bowel resections and provide an estimate of the bowel remainings. It functions as a measuring device for this data which experienced medical professionals can use, in combination with published medical research, as part of their decision-making process. Capture resection or residual data: Record the length of each resected or residual bowel region manually, using the live augmented reality environment, or visual estimates of the colon.Create a patient report, including:* Patient data (age, height, weight)* Resection/residual data Measurements of each resected/residual length Calculations of the estimated missing/remaining small bowel and colon* Additional patient information Small bowel resection location Status of ileocecal valve, G-tube, distal feeding tube, and stomaEstimated remaining intestinal length is calculated based on calculations adapted from the study entitled, “Establishing norms for intestinal length in children”.
